§1 The name of the association is “Konstnärernas Kollektivverkstad – Textiltryck Malmö,” abbreviated as Textiltryck Malmö. The association’s organization number is 846002-9476.

§2 The association Textiltryck Malmö is a non-profit association with the mission of creating opportunities for professional artists, artisans, and designers to work with textile printing in shared workshop facilities.

Textiltryck Malmö shall also promote the development and dissemination of textile printing as an art form and serve as a meeting place where knowledge is preserved and developed.

§3 The association is open to professional artists, artisans, and designers. Criteria for membership include a high artistic standard and qualified skills in textile printing. Membership is granted by the board following an application submitted via a specific form and the presentation of work samples.
Membership becomes valid once the applicable base fee has been paid. The board also grants student membership for a “development year” to individuals who are not yet established professionals. Requirements for such membership include a clear objective for the year, sound knowledge of textile printing, and the presentation of high-quality work samples.

§4 The annual meeting is held each year no later than April 30. A notice of the meeting, including the agenda, is sent out no later than 14 days prior to the meeting. The financial year follows the calendar year. The annual meeting determines the base fee and other fees. Voting rights at the Annual General Meeting are granted only to full members who have paid their fees. Motions to be submitted to the Annual General Meeting must reach the Board no later than March 1st. The items listed below, along with any other matters to be addressed at the meeting, shall be included in the notice of the meeting:

  • Recording of members present and preparation of the electoral roll.
  • Question regarding the proper convening of the meeting and approval of the agenda.
  • Election of meeting chairperson, meeting secretary, minute verifiers, and vote counters.
  • Activity report.
  • Annual financial report.
  • Auditor’s report.
  • Question regarding discharge of the Board from liability.
  • Determination of fees.
  • Election of the chairperson and other Board members.
  • Election of the auditor.
  • Election of the nomination committee (at least two persons, one of whom serves as convener).
  • Motions received.

§5 The Board consists of five persons elected for a two-year term: chairperson, treasurer, secretary, and two ordinary members. In addition, two deputy members are elected for a one-year term. The Board elects the treasurer and secretary from among its members. If a Board member resigns or is expelled during the term of office, the Board shall appoint a deputy member from among its ranks to take their place until the next ordinary Annual General Meeting. The chairperson and the treasurer are authorized signatories. A full Board constitutes a quorum.

§6 Membership follows the calendar year. Resignation from the Association takes effect at the turn of the year following written notification. The basic fee is non-refundable. No new basic fee is charged upon application for re-entry within five years. A member who repeatedly violates the statutes and rules of conduct, or fails to pay applicable fees, may be suspended or expelled from the association by the Board.

§7 A decision to dissolve the association shall be made following an annual general meeting and a subsequent extraordinary general meeting. Any assets held by the association shall be liquidated in consultation with grant providers and funding authorities. A proposal for dissolution must be communicated to the members in the notice convening the annual general meeting.

Rules

The workshop provides a number of printing frames available for loan. To book one, please sign the logbook for loan frames and follow the posted instructions.

As a regular or student member, you may rent storage space in the workshop. Available storage options include shelves, fabric compartments, and archive boxes (limit of two of each type per member). To ensure a pleasant environment for everyone, personal materials must not be left or stored outside of your rented storage spaces.

Design and artistic work require concentration and a quiet atmosphere. Please be considerate and avoid unnecessarily disturbing others while they work. After your work session, clean up your workspace and clean any shared materials, equipment, or tools you have used.

Logbook.

We are required to keep statistics on workshop usage; please enter your name and the date in the binder marked “Logbook” when you arrive at the workshop.

Invoicing details.

Fill out the invoicing binder after every work session. Refer to the specific instructions regarding pricing. We trust everyone working here to take responsibility for settling their accounts honestly.

Equipment at Textiltryck Malmö.

Ensure you know how to operate the equipment before using it. Follow the instructions for all machines. Ask if you are unsure. We want to keep the printing tables intact, clean, and level. Do not use sharp objects on the printing tables. Avoid standing or climbing on the tables. Clean any ink or adhesive residue from the tables after your work session. The light table must be cleaned immediately if photo emulsion gets onto the glass surface. Do not use warped or broken frames during exposure, as the glass may crack.

Curing in the heat-setting oven should only take place in the afternoon (after 2:00 PM) or in the evening. This is out of consideration for our work environment. Turn on the exhaust fan in the ink room before heatsetting and remember to turn it off afterwards (the noise disturbs the neighbors).

The long rinsing sinks in the washroom are intended solely for rinsing fabrics. They must be kept clean and must not be used for cleaning frames. Loaner frames may be borrowed for a maximum of 6 months. Frames must be booked in the designated binder. Loaner frames may not leave the workshop; they must only be used for work done on the premises.

Frames with stencils that have not been booked may be cleaned and used by another member. Use only the recommended tape on the frames.

Record any equipment or facility faults that you cannot fix yourself in the designated notebook on the counter by the telephone, or send an email to the office.

Insurance

Everyone working in the workshop is responsible for having their own accident and liability insurance. Liability for damages applies in cases of gross negligence.

Project Room/Photo Studio

The workshop’s project room houses a small photo studio equipped with a backdrop, light boxes, and stands. A digital camera is also available for loan if needed. The photo studio is booked via the booking system, just like other equipment. The camera is booked using a separate form found in the binder labeled “kamera” at our sign-in station. The camera may be borrowed for a maximum of seven consecutive days.

The workshop has two computers equipped with relevant software tools. These are located in the project room and are booked via our booking system, just like other equipment. The computer in the office is reserved for workshop staff only.

The project room also offers workspace for sublimation printing, stencils, printing tasks, and other “dry” materials.

Environment and health.

The use of solvents and solvent-based inks or adhesives should be avoided; if used, they require caution and consideration for others in the workshop.

It is the responsibility of each individual member to ensure that the materials they use are stored and disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner.

The small green bin for household and combustible waste located in the courtyard belongs to Textiltryck Malmö. It is emptied on Tuesdays.

Environmentally hazardous waste may be placed by the courtyard door for transport to Sysav.

Eating or drinking at the printing tables is not permitted in the print workshop, except during scheduled group gatherings.

The ink kitchen and the break-room kitchen must always be kept separate; this means that tools, trays, and the like must never be moved from one kitchen to the other.

You may store food in our shared break-room kitchen. You are personally responsible for keeping the kitchen clean and ensuring that no old food is left in the refrigerator or trash bins.

We hold communal cleaning days in which all members are expected to participate. There is an option to pay a cleaning fee if you are unable to attend.

Responsibility

It is the responsibility of each individual member to familiarize themselves with and adhere to current policy documents.

Sexual harassment is defined in the Discrimination Act (SFS 2008:567) as conduct of a sexual nature that violates a person’s dignity. This can involve touching, groping, jokes, propositions, looks, images, or language that is sexually suggestive and perceived as offensive or unwelcome.

It is the person subjected to harassment who determines what they consider offensive. Therefore, it is important for the person who feels subjected to such behavior to make it clear that the conduct is unwelcome.

Responsibility

Textiltryck Malmö shall prevent and stop harassment from occurring. This means that those responsible for operations are accountable for preventing harassment and ensuring that effective procedures are in place to handle any instances of harassment within the business.

Should the company become aware that any form of harassment has occurred, we will always investigate the incident and actively prevent further harassment or violations.

If those responsible for operations at Textiltryck Malmö become aware that an employee is being subjected to harassment in connection with their work, they are responsible for taking immediate action. Similarly, employees at Textiltryck Malmö are obliged to act immediately if they become aware that a colleague is being subjected to harassment.
